Apple Cranberry Pie
Ingredients
2 ½ lbs. Golden Delicious apples, peeled, cored, sliced ¼”
¾ cup sugar
1 cup dry cranberries
3 Tbsp. All-purpose flour
1 Tbsp. Lemon juice
½ tsp. ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp. salt
1 pie dough
Directions
Combine all ingredients, let stand for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Roll dough into a 13 – inch round pie pan and trim overhang. Roll more dough into 12 inch circle to top pie.
Pour pie filling into dough. Dot with 2 Tbsp. Unsalted butter. Brush edges with water and place top dough over apples.
Cut steam vents into top. Crimp or flute dough.
Sprinkle top with 2 tsp. sugar, and 1/8 tsp. ground cinnamon.
Bake for 30 minutes in 425° F. oven. Bake until fruit is tender, when knife is inserted.
Reduce heat to 350° F. and continue to bake additional 30 minutes.
